L’hotel élan is a savvy boutique-inspired hotel in Hong Kong’s up-and-coming Kwun Tong neighbourhood. To create a comforting, harmonious ambience, the hotel employed BAP Technology Consultants Limited to provide a top-notch light dimming control system that will help guests relax, so they feel completely at home. BAP has worked with the L’hotel group on multiple projects, including dimming control work for the banquet hall and hotel lobby areas of L’hotel Nina at Nina Tower in Tsuen Wan district.

The firm chose the Lutron HomeWorks System with its associated CCP Dimming Panel, a state-of-the-art combination that can be used to provide control of multiple zones of light in a single room or throughout a large space. Lighting designers Spectrum Design & Associates (Asia) worked closely with BAP for optimal dimming results.

L’hotel élan’s reception area required special lighting tailored to make a lasting impression at all times of the day. Lighting fixtures were professionally installed to emphasise the lobby décor. The recessed lights brighten the check in areas and make it look even more spacious than it is.

Well-defined accent lighting in the second floor restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable vibe to go with an enjoyable meal and the company of friends, family and loved ones. The restaurant is fitted out with dark wood and features private rooms for guests. Optimum lumens are all perfectly hidden above the various seating areas so that light beams will not reflect into the guests’ eyes. With a single touch, the degree of brightness can be adjusted to suit the mood – the lounge areas feature soft lighting, for couples on dates, the lighting can be more subdued, while brighter, warmer luminosity can be created to suit large celebrations and gathering events. Additionally, a series of floor-to-ceiling windows brighten up the otherwise dusky restaurant and allow in plenty of daylight when the lighting is not in use.

For the ballroom and function rooms, the Lutron Seetouch wall station controls the brightness of each area or the space as a whole to cope with different scales of events. Guests can also blend electrical and natural lights to conserve energy. Similarly, with the gym, hidden ceiling lights create an energetic atmosphere, not only to motivate users to work out but also to add depth, scale and sparkle to the space.
